We Can Fly

Installation at Green Space Gallery, a partnership between the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and T.F. Green International Airport

Media: archival digital prints on reposition-able wall fabric
Dimensions: heights ranging 4.5’ - 6’

Exhibited September 2021- January 2022,
installed shortly after COVID travel restrictions started opening up

Artist Statement:

I’ve been thinking about the exhilaration of travel, kids playing airplane, and how the world first opens up to us through visceral imaginary play…

Even as our current stories of travel are encumbered–by closed borders, a relentless virus, and volatile global politics–I hope that these micro-murals will call up the curiosity, bravery, and spirit of imagination from which flight is born.

So open your arms and feel the wind on your face as you sprint towards baggage claim. Wishing you good health and a memorable journey.
